Washington University

School of Medicine - West Building
St. Louis, Missouri

The West Building is 106,000 ft2 and houses a mix of laboratories and offices. 8760 Engineering recognized that airflow reductions attributed to airflow studies completed previously were likely to produce energy paybacks of 2 years or less. Our team was able to identify further opportunities within the building for performing energy retrofits to further the University’s goal of reducing carbon emissions.

Upon completion of the Energy Study, Washington University decided to pursue an Airflow Rebalance for the West Building. This work will save the University an estimated $85,000 annually as well as improve occupant comfort. 8760 provided the overall planning for the execution of the project, including complete design and construction administration.
