University of Tulsa Central Plant Analysis
- Eric Utterson, Principal and Project Manager
- Erich Blaufuss, Principal
A rapidly growing campus led the University of Tulsa to evaluate the performance of the central chilled water and heating water plant. It had been many years since the general operation and capacity had been evaluated. 8760 Engineering was hired to analyze the 6,000 Ton Central Chilled Water Plant and 80,000 MBH central medium temperature heating plant.
The project approach was to collect plant logs for chilled water and heating, document equipment conditions, document piping distribution, and determine control strategies at the plant and at each building. Additionally, heating and cooling demands for the 31 connected building were analyzed.
