8760 Engineering Joins Bernhard Energy Solutions
St. Louis, Missouri, September 5, 2018, Bernhard Energy Solutions (Bernhard), North America’s only turnkey Energy as a Service company, today announced it has acquired 8760 Engineering, a St. Louis-based firm specializing in analysis and design of mechanical and electrical building systems in existing and new facilities.
The acquisition marks a significant investment in the St. Louis area. Bernhard offers comprehensive solutions for financing, design-build, operation, and long-term maintenance. Backed by private equity firm Bernhard Capital Partners, Bernhard provides structured finance solutions that combine investment dollars with asset monetization services and energy efficiency upgrades. Bernhard currently employs more than 2,000 employees in 25 locations across the nation.
8760 Engineering was founded in 2009 by Chris Chivetta, Jerry Williams, Eric Utterson and Erich Blaufuss to focus on complex engineering designs and energy efficiency for building systems. The company has grown to 20 employees with offices in St. Louis and Detroit and has executed projects all across North America for clients such as Ascension Health, the Washington University School of Medicine, Saint Louis University and Molson MillerCoors.
8760 will be a part of Bernhard TME Engineering, a full-service design and energy engineering firm headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas with offices located throughout the nation. Both Bernhard TME and 8760 were founded on the same principles—to provide high quality energy solutions that are client-centric and energy efficient. “We have a long history with 8760,” said Rusty Mullen, Chief Executive Officer of Bernhard TME, “and this was a natural fit for both of our firms. Together we will continue to lead the industry with innovative energy solutions.”
Ryan Corrigan, the COO and a Partner at 8760 Engineering, will be the Director of Bernhard TME’s St. Louis office. “To say that we are excited to join the Bernhard team is an understatement” said Corrigan, “With Bernhard, we now have expanded capabilities like new services and project delivery methods that will bring even more value to our clients.”
“This acquisition is a significant step in Bernhard’s strategic growth,” said Ed Tinsley, Chief Executive Officer of Bernhard. “8760 has an impeccable reputation in the Energy as a Service industry and establishes for Bernhard an excellent business foundation in St. Louis, Missouri while we continue our expansion across the country. We see this as an opportunity to grow Bernhard’s national presence while also adding talented, industry-leading professionals to our team.”
